Processing charges

Open access proposes a relatively new model for academic journal publishing that provides immediate, worldwide, barrier-free access to the full text of all published papers. It allows all interested readers to view, download, print, and redistribute any article without a subscription, enabling far greater distribution of an author’s work than the traditional subscription-based publishing model. Many authors in a variety of fields have begun to realize the benefits that open access can provide in terms of increasing the impact of their work.

Paper processing charges replace subscription charges and allow publishers to make the full text of every published paper freely available to all interested readers. In addition, authors who publish in open access journals retain the copyright of their work, enabling the unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction of an article in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited.

Polish Maritime Research is an open access journal, and it is covered by many abstracting and indexing services. These services promote the content of PMR papers using metadata and abstracts.

The metadata presented in abstracting and indexing services includes the title, author(s), date of publication, journal title, volume and issue, page numbers, subject area, keywords, DOI, etc.

Users browsing these services using particular search criteria are shown the relevant papers, chapters or books with the metadata, abstract and link to the full text.

Polish Maritime Research is covered by:

Web of Science - Science Citation Index Expanded

and

Scopus

and other A&I services.

Publishing a paper in Polish Maritime Research requires a paper processing charge that will be billed to the submitting author following the acceptance of a manuscript for publication.

The publication charge is 500 EUR. PMR charges nominal publication fee to offset expenses associated with the overall journal operations including: open access charges; indexing and abstracting services; English language editing, website maintenance, etc.

The payment should be made to the bank account of Gdansk University of Technology by bank transfer. You may pay also the publication fee in US dollars or Polish PLN. Please find the exchange rate at: https://www.xe.com/
