Theoretical investigation of pivoting mechanisms for boat davits
Abstract
This paper presents a theoretical investigation of the boat davit construction and pivoting mechanism designs which comply with current provisions of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea - SOLAS. The analysis is based on two main types of the mechanisms applied also in the davits produced by RAM A Marine Machinery Works, Gniew, Poland.
