TECHNIQUES TO IMPROVE SCALABILITY AND PERFORMANCE OF J2EE-BASED APPLICATIONS

Abstract

This paper reports research on improvement techniques of scalability and performance of Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition, (J2EE) based applications. The study deals with operating systems and Java Virtual Machine (JVM) tuning, the setting of Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) Application Servers’ configuration parameters and clustering methods. The theoretical principles of achieving high performance and scalability of J2EE Applications are considered. The experimental environment and scenarios are described. The experimental results of the considered techniques’ evaluation are presented and analyzed.
