THE BARRIERS OF INNOVATIVE ACTIVITY IN THE ENTERPRISES SECTOR

Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify the barriers of the innovation process in terms of their theory and practice. The study of literature allowed to present previously identified barriers of innovation process. Moreover, the information obtained through direct interview with the entrepreneur led to their verification in practice. In the analysis the stages of the innovation process developed by Knosala and others (2014) were used. This was the basis for the results interpretation. The result of this research was to determine the barriers that are still severe in the mplementation of innovation, especially for micro-enterprises, which have limited financial and human resources, what results from the limited internal potential. These considerations were preceded by a review of the definitions of innovation and innovation activity. The innovation process and its stages was also discussed, this initiated the identification of barriers in the enterprises of the cosmetic industry. The research contributed to the updating information about barriers in the innovation process, beside this, it corrected the previously presented in the literature barriers. Implementation of the aim of this study was associated with the use of a method of analysis and criticism of literature as well as methods of diagnostic survey. Regarding the diagnostic survey method an interview with the owner of the company as a case study was used.
