PSYCHOLOGICAL MECHANISMS DETERMINING THE PERCEPTION OF OLDER EMPLOYEES

Abstract

The article presents various psychological mechanisms that determine the self-perception of the older employees and determine the way they are perceived by their environment. Opinions regarding skills and work performance of the older employees that are held by the employers from various European countries are presented and confronted with results of studies on age-related changes that affect human cognition.
