DIVERSITY MANAGEMENT AS A METHOD OF OVERCOMING THE STEREOTYPES AND PREJUDICES OF OLDER WORKERS – EXAMPLES OF GOOD PRACTICE
Abstract
The article focuses on the issue of diversity management used to overcome the stereotypes and prejudices concerning workers in the pre-retirement age. The authors present mechanisms underlying the creation of stereotypes about older workers’ efficiency. The content of stereotypes was compared with results of research concerning the effectiveness of employees of different ages. Based on the psychological mechanisms that enable the modification of stereotypes, the analysis of “good practices in age management” was carried out.
