Terms and Conditions of the "Best publications in the journal Research on Enterprise in Modern Economy - Theory and Practice (REME) / Przedsiębiorstwo we współczesnej gospodarce - teoria i praktyka" Competition

Organiser of the Competition

Art. 1

  1. The organiser of the "Best publications in the journal Research on Enterprise in Modern Economy - Theory and Practice (REME) / Przedsiębiorstwo we współczesnej gospodarce - teoria i praktyka", hereinafter referred to as the "Competition", is the Faculty of Management and Economics of Gdańsk University of Technology, based at ul. Traugutta 79, 80-233 Gdańsk.
  2. The honorary patron of the Competition is the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Economics of Gdańsk University of Technology.

Purpose and objectives of the Competition

Art. 2

  1. The purpose of the Competition is to disseminate knowledge in the field of social sciences by publishing the best articles in the REME journal issued by the Faculty of Management and Economics of Gdańsk University of Technology.
  2. Its objective consists in creating an opportunity for young scientists from Poland and abroad to publish their research.
  3. The subject area of the Competition covers issues within the field of social sciences.

Competition participants

Art. 3

  1. The Competition has a transnational character and is open to individuals who submit an article according to the rules posted on the journal website (https://journal.mostwiedzy.pl/reme/about/submissions) by 15 May 2022.
  2. Information about the Competition (Terms and Conditions, list of awardees and titles of their articles) shall be posted on the journal website by 31 July 2022.
  3. By submitting an application to participate in the Competition, the applicant states that he/she is familiar with the information concerning the processing of personal data at Gdańsk University of Technology and simultaneously agrees to have his/her personal data processed by Gdańsk University of Technology in accordance with the information contained in the Appendix.

Competition

Art. 4

  1. The Competition is a one-time event and covers articles submitted according to the rules (https://journal.mostwiedzy.pl/reme/about/submissions) by 15 May 2022 and meeting the editorial requirements published on the journal website (https://journal.mostwiedzy.pl/index.php/reme/libraryFiles/downloadPublic/4).
  2. The condition for participation in the Competition is confirmation of the article submission receipt by its Organiser.
  3. Authors may only submit articles that have not been published elsewhere before and are not currently being reviewed in another journal. In addition, the Authors must declare that they hold the copyright to their articles.
  4. The Competition shall be resolved by 31 June 2022 at the latest.

Competition Committee

Art. 5

  1. The Organiser is responsible for the substantive level and the proper conduct of the Competition, as well as appoints the Competition Committee that evaluates the submitted articles.
  2. The Competition Committee consists of the Chair of the Committee and two representatives of the Faculty of Management and Economics of Gdańsk University of Technology. At least two out of three members of the Competition Committee must hold a dr hab. (Doctor Habilitatus) degree.
  3. When evaluating articles, the Committee takes into account their substantive levels and opinions of the reviewers.
  4. The evaluations of the Competition Committee are final.

 Awards

Art. 5

The Organiser of the Competition "Best Publications in the journal Research on Enterprise in Modern Economy - Theory and Practice (REME) / Przedsiębiorstwo we współczesnej gospodarce - teoria i praktyka" provides for three cash awards for authors of the publications:

3rd award – EUR 300 (gross) or an equivalent amount in PLN per publication, regardless of the number of Authors.

2nd award – EUR 200 (gross) or an equivalent amount in PLN per publication, regardless of the number of Authors.

1st award – EUR 100 (gross) or an equivalent amount in PLN per publication, regardless of the number of Authors.

Final provisions

Any matters not regulated by these Terms and Conditions shall be settled by the Organiser.

Appendix: Information on the processing of personal data

The Controller of your personal data is Gdańsk University of Technology (PG) with its seat in Gdańsk, 80-233, at ul. Narutowicza 11/12. Gdańsk University of Technology has appointed a Data Protection Officer who can be contacted via email: iod@pg.edu.pl.

Your personal data shall be processed for the purpose of conducting the Competition, selecting the winner(s) and forwarding the award, if granted, in the Competition: "Best publications in the journal Research on Enterprise in Modern Economy - Theory and Practice (REME) / Przedsiębiorstwo we współczesnej gospodarce - teoria i praktyka", based on a legitimate interest (Art. 6 sec. 1 letter 6 of the GDPR*), which is to enable participants to take part in the Competition and the Organisers to conduct the Competition, publish information about the winners and archive documents.

Your personal data shall not be transferred to countries outside the European Union. In connection with the processing of data for the purpose indicated above, your personal data may be shared with other recipients or categories of recipients of personal data. The recipients of your personal data may include:

  1. Other entities authorised to receive your personal data under the applicable law.
  2. Other entities processing your personal data on behalf of the controller based on an agreement for the entrustment of the processing of personal data (the Processing Entities).
  3. Your personal data (first and last name, email address) and submitted articles shall be made public on the website of the REME journal dedicated to the Competition "Best Publications in the journal Research on Enterprise in Modern Economy - Theory and Practice (REME) / Przedsiębiorstwo we współczesnej gospodarce - teoria i praktyka" (https://journal.mostwiedzy.pl/reme/about).
  4. Your personal data may be kept for the duration of the Competition and the selection of its winner(s), as well as later as part of the promotional activities of Gdańsk University of Technology consisting in making the results of the Competition available on the University website. You have the right to access your personal data, the right to rectification, erasure and restriction of processing of such data, the right to transfer the data and object to the processing of your data. You have the right to lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office if you find that the processing of your personal data violates the provisions of the GDPR*.
